Day of the Dead

Sometimes, I like to check in with the Free People blog. When I saw their post on painting planters to look like Day of the Dead skulls, I wanted to give it a try! My friend moved into a new apartment awhile ago and my daddio gave me one of his aloes to give to said friend. Then I went and bought a pot to paint!
Welp, my planter looks more like a weirdie fortune teller. Also, turns out the aloe's roots grew and I could not fit him into the newly painted planter! So, the plant and the pot became two separate gifts. Hopefully, my friend finds a use for that pot...

I tried to make the planter look like a creeper in the grass. Did it work?

The Twisted Blues Photoshoot

Whenever I shoot pictures or video of my cousins playing in their band, I want my audience to see my cousins the way I do. Which is talented and incredibly goofy! Luckily, they're proud of their funniness and want their audience to see that too. So, we went over to Tempe Town Lakes and had a fun time (at least I did!) shooting some new images.

See? Goofy. :)

Butterflies & Chihuly

Happy Monday! Last Monday was extra happy because I went to the Desert Botanical Gardens with my mutter (aka my mom) and her friends to see the Chihuly pieces. When we were buying tickets the teller asked if we wanted to pay extra for the butterfly exhibit and I was said something along the lines of, "Oh nooo, no, noooo." But Mutter wanted to see those butterflies so, she paid for it!
Now, I've crossed paths with many butterflies in my life and each time I jump. I laugh afterwards because, please, butterflies are so sweet looking. But I guess they are also somewhat unsettling! :) So, my mom had to tell me to stop gasping while we walked through the butterfly exhibit.
When we finally walked out, there was a little stow-away on my mom's shoulder! She rushed back to return the silly thing to the exhibit.

I thought his torn wing was cute!

Getting my mom to take my picture! :P

Orange Blossoms

My neighborhood has lots of orange trees and this time of year they smell great! Luckily, I have one of those orange trees in the front yard. I love waking up and going outside to smell the blossoms. It's a nice way to be greeted in the morning. I wanted to honor those cute little blossoms, so here are some photos.
While I was snapping some pictures I heard a meow and turned around to see this little brat. Note the panting. He tired himself out from running amuck in our driveway.
